Abstract
The purpose of this discourse is to become familiar with the playwright through a study of his background and a recreation of one of his dramas. Toward this purpose biographical information concerning Lennox Robinson and the Abbey Theatre is presented as well as a director's prompt book including all the necessary directions for staging, interpretation, settings, and costumes for Lennox Robinson's three-act play, The Far-Off Hills. A performance of The Far-Off Hills was produced and directed as a partial completion of the thesis requirement on March 18, 1952, in the St. Rose School Auditorium, 3000 West Clybourn Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Included is a list of the members of the cast to whom this author is grateful for their efforts and cooperation.
