Abstract

The review of periodical literature reported in this thesis was undertaken in order to define the problem of the child who fails to meet the basic standards of performance of the primary grades, but who demonstrates no apparent intellectual, physical, or educational limitation, and to relate the efforts made by researchers in this regard between 1940 and 1965.
