Abstract
Investigation of problems directly or indirectly related to childhood speech defects presents many associated areas of interest which include home environment and family socioeconomic status. Although articles and studies linking socioeconomic status with infant care and the present condition of the child ' s speech patterns have been written, there is little literature in the field of socioeconomics which directly relates to mother- awareness in these two areas. For this reason, this study has been undertaken.
