Abstract
The general purpose of this manuscript is to enumerate and evaluate the various therapy techniques for adults with aphasia, so as to offer insight, direction and guidance to therapists, teachers, nurses, members of the family and friends. Evaluation was accomplished through firsthand experience and by comparing the philosophies and techniques of famous writers in the field of aphasia. "Evaluation of Therapeutic Techniques for Adult Aphasics" has been designed to offer insight into the dynamics of the patient-clinician relationship, and the importance of an effective rehabilitation program, including continuous counseling for the family, making available for them opportunities for frequent contacts with professional personnel, since the exchange of both familial and clinical information is imperative. Special emphasis is given to the techniques of Mary Coates Longerich and Jean Bordeaux, McKenzie Buck, Hildred Schuell, Martha Taylor, Aleen Agranowitz and Thomas Houchin.
