Abstract
The original purpose of this thesis was to build an apparatus for the measurement of Hall effect and to use this apparatus to measure the Hall effect and magneto resistance of iron pyrite. However it was found after some work that any Hall effect present was completely masked by the heavy current noise present in the sample. Since we were not equipped to thoroughly study the noise effects, a new material was selected for study. Some of the electrical properties of cadmium selenide were investigated using the Hall effect apparatus.
