Abstract
Although a commercial spectrographic laboratory can perform a quantitative analysis in approximately fifteen minutes, the task of aligning the spectrographic equipment and establishing a suitable technique to archive this result is a long task with problems unique to every installation. In the Physics Department of Marquette University, where an Applied Research Laboratories-Dietert Grafting Spectrograph and Projection Comparator-Densitiometer are installed, there is a total of 54 adjustments. The problem of this thesis is to adjust all of the 54 components and to prepare working curves for the alloying elements in standard samples obtained from the National Bureau of Standards.
