Abstract
This thesis is intended, primarily, as a description of the development of a piece of apparatus that is suitable for the determination of the magnetic properties of ferro-magnetic materials when subjected to very high magnetizing forces. It is believed that the permeameter described will be suitable for the commercial testing of magnetic materials used in electrical machinery. In addition, the magnetic properties of a specimen of welding rod and one of cold rolled steel have been investigated for values of magnetizing force in excess of 25,000 ampere turns per inch.
