Abstract
The thesis, which is focus on the photochemistry of a trisilane substituted by a pendant p-cyanostilbene electron acceptor chromophore, involves the synthesis of the photochemical reactant; preparative photolyses; isolation and identification of the photoproduct; deuterium labeling experiments for mechanistic information fluorescence study in different solvents and various concentrations of alcohol as quencher; excited states lifetime determination; photoproducts quantum yield determinations; biacetyl sensitization and azulene quenching experiments. Stem-Volmer type of coreelation and solvatochromic plots were used for interpreting the mechanism.
