Abstract
It is the purpose of this thesis to describe a procedure for the polarographic determination of oxygen utilization in an activated sewage sludge. It was the necessity for a better and faster method of this type of determination which led to the undertaking of this project. The results arrived at are now in use as standard procedure at the Milwaukee Sewerage Commission where the author is employed as a chemist.
