Abstract
In spite of the increasing industrial importance of organosols, fundamental research in this branch of colloidal chemistry is considerably behind that which deals with aqueous systems. Deposition by electrophoresis of sols and suspensions has found application in various fields, even though certain of the quantitative relationships involved require further study for their full explanation. In this paper, a study will be made of the relationships which exist between the deposition yield and (1) the suspension concentration, (2) the applied voltage, and (3) the deposition time, using suspensions of zinc powder-dust in methanol.
