Abstract
The purpose of this study was to further increase nursing knowledge about maternal adaptation in first-time mothers, in order to guide nursing interventions in the prenatal and postnatal care of women and their children. With acknowledgement for the many nursing research studies regarding adaptation in first-time mothers, this study did not intend to necessarily offer new knowledge, but rather to expand on current knowledge through an in-person qualitative research elicitation of concerns about one's self, baby, and anything felt by the new mother to be significant, during the first three postpartum months.
