Abstract
The purpose of this essay was to provide a comprehensive evaluation of the status of research concerning relocation of nursing home residents. The review included an examination of the theories developed by others to explain the nature of the problem of relocation as well as frameworks or models which may provide either perspectives or methodological approaches for studying the phenomena. From this analysis of the relationship of facts, research findings, themes and theories, nursing research and practice implications were identified.
