Abstract
Nursing implications were developed for nurses who work with families who have children ages birth to fourteen years affected by multiple allergies. The implications were designed to guide health professionals in deriving strategies for care that address family concerns and that families find useful. The implications can be utilized in any health care setting. A review of the literature describes parenthood as a developmental phase, parenting the child with chronic illness, and parenting the child with multiple allergies. The implications are designed as general guidelines, not as a comprehensive approach to working with individual families.
