Abstract
Because of its peculiar anatomy and physiology, the trachea is one of the few tubular organs in the human that still defies successful resection and reconstruction. Fortunately this does not present a frequent demand in clinical surgery, but does occur often enough in trauma, cancer, and some infectious processes to continue the search for a satisfactory technic. This project has been concerned with evaluating a method of tracheal reconstruction after extended circumferential resection by utilizing a form of tracheoplasty.
