Abstract
An ultrasonic bolt monitor based on the pseudo-continuous-wave principle has been designed and fabricated. This ultrasonic bolt monitor uses carrier phase detection to track the frequency of mechanical resonance of the bolt. In this thesis we have discussed theory and principle of this ultrasonic bolt monitor and also data on bolts of different material and geometry are reported.
