Abstract
No dental material provides a hermetic seal between itself and the tooth structure. There are always microscopic gaps between the tooth and the filling material. As long as there are these "gaps", studies will be conducted to see which material comes closest to the perfect seal. In endodontic surgery, this seal is thought to be of the utmost importance and continued research of retrofill materials is needed in the quest for this perfect seal. This study has evaluated three zinc oxide products, IRM, EBA and Diaket, for their sealing ability when used in endodontic surgery.
