Abstract

Nonlinear differential equations which govern the large deflection of shallow sandwich shells having orthotropic cores are derived in this thesis. A solution to these equations is discussed and a sample application is presented. Thermal effect is treated briefly, and a corresponding set of governing differential equations is developed.
