Abstract
With the increased interest in resource recovery from municipal solid wastes, many city, state and regional governments are very seriously reevaluating their solid wastes disposal options. In the process of evaluating design alternatives for solid wastes processing plants and conducting market analyses for recovered materials, these governmental units are finding that they lack information on the quantity and characteristics of the solid wastes being generated. It is the purpose of this research to determine the characteristics of solid wastes being disposed and processed at the Americology Resource Recovery Facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
