Abstract
A number of papers have appeared in the literature in the last five to ten years on the analysis of relay, on-off or bang-bang type servos with second and third order plant transfer functions. In these articles there have been a number of theoretical and analytical principles developed that can be applied to on-off type servo systems. The purpose of this paper will be to apply the above mentioned principles to a unique magnetic particle clutch positioning system and to verify the results by analog simulation. Thus, effectively a criterion of performance will be established for this particular system.
