Abstract
In recent years there has been considerable research toward finding and developing new types of waveguide for use in the millimeter-wave frequency range. This thesis is an experimental investigation of one such waveguide; the two-wire transmission line. The results of the experiment are compared to a theoretical analysis given by Arnold Sommerfeld, and are shown to agree with this theoretical analysis. The attenuation constant is shown to be approximately equal to the attenuation constant for RG 98/U waveguide. The field extent is shown to be of reasonable size, and determined primarily by the wire radius.
