Abstract

In any self-adaptive control system, some means must be present to continuously provide the adaptive function with information concerning the operation of the process being controlled. A tracking model identifier uses only the information available in the process input and output signals to adjust its parameters so that its output is the same as that of the plant. This thesis investigates the basic properties of a Laguerre filter tracking model with respect to its use as an automatic identifier of process dynamics.
