Abstract
This research study investigates the fate of cadmium during the processing and disposal of wastewater sludges. Of major interest was any potential movement of cadmium from a solids-associated form to a soluble form. The study was designed to determine the effects of chemical conditioning, vacuum filtration, anaerobic and aerobic digestion and plant growth on the initial form of cadmium in the test sludge.
