Abstract

The CT reconstruction algorithm assumes that all data collected around a circumference is from the same plane. Helical images are generated from data collected while the patient is moving in the z direction and, thus, does not have all the data collected from the same plane. As a result there is less resolution in the images. This thesis describes an image restoration technique that improves resolution in images generated from CT data collected while the patient is moving at a constant velocity during a CT scan.
