Abstract
The thesis researches and develops an interactive program to assist beginning Pascal students in learning this language. The idea for this thesis developed from observing beginning students attempt to learn two skills, a text editor and programming language, simultaneously. A survey of problems students were having in getting their first several programs to compile lead me to write an interactive program which would give students immediate feedback on how each line of coding was proceeding. This thesis is intended to accomplish this objective.
