Abstract

The study of electromagnetic natural oscillations of helical coils and windings is of fundamental importance in the design of electrical equipment. This thesis is directed towards an extension of the basic mathematical analysis of this phenomenon. An electromagnetic model of helical windings is presented and analyzed by the use of the classical Maxwell's equations. The results of this analysis are compared to experimental measurements tor verification of the validity of the approach.
