Abstract
There are various ways of removing BOD from wast-water, among them sedimentation, coagulation, trickling filters, and activated sludge. This rotating filter is a setup probably acting as a trickling filter and activated sludge unit combined which, it was hoped, would have suitable BOD removal from highly variable strength wastes and variable organic loading to become a practical method of treating wast-waters.
