Abstract
Fiber-reinforced polymer systems are relatively new to structural design. FRP may be used for either internal or external reinforcement in structural members. For both cases, a literature review examines the design procedures and expressions used in the design of flexural members. Then, design examples for each case will be included to demonstrate how some of the proposed expressions can be used in the design of a beam.
