Abstract

With the advent of television as a teaching instrument it behoves educators and specialists of many professions to take advantage of this medium. Speech Correction is a vital field touching one out of ten families in the United States. It would seem appropriate that various aspects of speech in children and adults should be shown and explained through this new medium. This thesis concerns two kinescopes on stuttering. They are the first to be prepared by the Speech Clinic of Marquette University and treat a subject which is of considerable importance to adults and children. The author of this thesis, in undertaking the task of writing and producing these kinescopes on stuttering, has received full cooperation of the School of Speech, its new television studio and equipment, its Speech Clinic and staff, and Marquette University students who were patients of the Clinic.
