Abstract
Despite widespread application of the anaerobic digestion process in the field of municipal sludge management, there is a dearth of information available relative to process fundamentals and optimum operating strategies. This paucity of information is much more pronounced for biological (waste activated) sludges. It was the objective of this research to provide insights into overall optimum sludge management strategies for the anaerobic digestion of a waste activated sludge.
