Abstract

The traffic impact of a new development can be accurately addressed with a thorough understanding of its trip generation characteristics. The increasing growth of video movie rental shops and the absence of any kind of trip generation data has actuated the need for the study. The study identifies the variables which would provide a good estimation of the trip generating potential of the video shop. Further, the study provides insight on the importance of factors such as the location type and the type of establishment in trip generation studies.
