Abstract

Computerized tomographic systems invariably have large digital image files. Data compression of the image files can reduce storage requirements and transmission times. Based on system considerations, several error-free compression techniques are evaluated using a set of sixteen CT images. A comparison of the techniques is presented, based on the degree of compression and the complexity of implementation.
