Abstract

Solutions of the steady laminar boundary equations for a moving continuous flat surface in a non-Newtonian fluid are obtained in this thesis. A numerical technique is used to obtain these solutions. These solutions are compared with solutions obtained by an approximate integral method. The study has been done for a power-law fluid. The study has been done for pseudoplastic fluids only. Velocity distribution, shear stress at the boundary, and other boundary layer properties are presented and discussed.
