Abstract
When using a dental articulator, it is imperative that the angle between the occlusal plane and Frankfort horizontal in the patient be the same as the angle between the occlusal plane of the maxillary cast and the upper member of the articulator. Previous evaluation of the transfer of this angle. Using an indirect mounting jig has demonstrated that significant errors in mounting the maxillary cast can result when using an indirect mounting jig. Studies are needed to evaluate and investigate the accuracy of commercially available indirect mounting jigs in relation to their conventional facebow systems. The purpose of the study was to compare the accuracy of indirect hinge axis record transfer in relation to the accuracy of a direct transfer.
