Abstract
It is often the desire of the prosthodontist and patient to relocate the six anterior teeth of complete maxillary dentures in the same relationship that the natural teeth occupied. There are many different opinions and techniques suggested for correctly setting the six maxillary anterior teeth, but there is a lack of quantitative information to evaluate whether the present landmarks that are used to relocate the artificial teeth are reliable and accurate enough to attain correct tooth placement. Abundant literature, based on clinical experience and opinions pertaining to the correct techniques and procedure to use in setting the teeth is available. No research, however, has been found that attempts to compare the actual measurements of the positions of the maxillary anterior natural teeth in relation to the positions of the maxillary anterior artificial teeth. It was for this reason that such a study was attempted on a limited number of patients.
