Abstract

The orthodontist needs to have an understanding of the skeletal and soft tissue profile in order to properly diagnose and treat orthodontic cases. The nose contributes greatly to the facial profile, thus any growth in this area will effect the esthetic result of an orthodontically treated patient. The objective of this investigation was to study the soft tissue growth changes of the nose, and to relate nasal growth to skeletal and soft tissue growth as seen on serial lateral cephalograms.
