Abstract
The majority of the studies of connective tissue fibers have been concerned with the collagen, reticulum and elastic fiber types. In 1958 Fullmer and Lillie defined a fourth type of connective tissue fiber and named it the oxytalan fiber. The purpose of this study is to describe the distribution of the oxytalan connective tissue fiber in the deciduous periodontal membrane and to elucidate its fine structure.
