Abstract
The past decade has seen a tremendous increase in the use of orthognathic surgery to correct dentofacial deformities and their associated malocclusions. Unfortunately, the dental and skeletal stability of the treatment has not been met with uniform success. The technical aspect of orthodontic therapy combined with surgery may be ahead of an adequate understanding of treatment response. The purpose of this study is to aid the clinician in under standing the biologic treatment response.
