Abstract
This study was undertaken to evaluate vertical control with the use of a transpalatal bar (Goshgarian style) while performing maxillary anterior intrusion mechanics. By comparing lateral cephalometric radiographs, this investigation attempted to 1: evaluate intrusion mechanics aimed at the maxillary anterior incisors, 2: determine what, if any, effect the transpalatal bar had upon the maxillary first molars, and 3: evaluate any effect upon the skeletal growth pattern of the patient.
