Abstract

Since ancient days when tooth ache was first treated on the premise that caries were caused by small worms, both the medical and the dental science have made notable progress largely through the development of methods of diagnosis.

The clinical findings of both the medical and dental sciences have conclusively shown that the teeth provide a very good field for the development of bacteria, which may have a pernicious effect on the general health.
