Abstract

Although the effects of the thyroid hormones are well defined for various tissues, little is known about the effects of thyroid hormones on smooth muscle. This study was undertaken in order to gain some insight into the metabolism of smooth muscle and to determine some of the effects, if any, of the thyroid hormones on the metabolism of smooth muscle.
