Abstract
Studies of the kinetics of cell proliferation have been renewed in the last three years with the perfection of improved methods of quantitative analysis of cell mitoses. Measurement of the mitotic index of cells cultured in artificial media has provided an effective means of estimating the potential mitotic activity of these cells. It is the purpose of this paper to report the results of an investigation measuring the mitotic index of cells occurring in diseases characterized by disturbances in cell proliferation.
