Abstract
A neoplasm or tumor is a proliferation of new tissue which is autonomous in its growth and which shows no purpose in structure nor of function. In this thesis only cancinoma or cancer which is a malignant epithelial tissue tumor will be considered.
In order to differentiate between cancinoma and other types of tumors and to keep our thoughts centered on this one type of tumor the following classification of tumors is given. The subdivisions of each type of tumor is also given.
