Abstract

Dental and facial pains have existed ever since the days of Cain and Abel, when man in his private and public combats resulted in wounds and injuries of the human body. Historical records show us that pains about the jaws were and are still a common ailment. An outstanding bit of history in regard to dental pain is of the marytr Saint Appolinia, the patroness of dental pain.
