Abstract
As in the ways of man, where it is more natural to want to earn one's bread with his own hand than to want to live from someone else's, so in dentistry it is more desirable to preserve one's own teeth and to resort to the artificial. thus, although it is advocated by a few more conservative dentists to retain no devitalized teeth, it seems that the more discriminating procedure would be to retain those teeth whose functional and esthetic values make their preservation desirable.
