Abstract
This thesis consists of an investigation into the role of platelets in the coagulation of blood. Such a problem is an extremely complex and broad one, and it has been possible to investigate only one phase of it. It was decided to study the nature and action of the thromboplastic factor, or factors, liberated by the platelets.
