Abstract
It is a well-known fact that certain areas of the teeth are quite vulnerable to decay, while other areas are more or less immune. Between these two extremes, decay may be found upon the teeth, in varying degrees, depending upon their location and structure. Self- cleansing areas of the teeth are constantly being cleaned by the ever- flowing saliva, and also the substances with which these areas come in contact. These are said to be very good examples of immune areas, while an example of susceptibility to tooth decay, may be seen in those areas which are inaccessible to cleaning, and therefore habor millions of caries forming bacteria.
