Abstract
Until recent years little thought, as given to the effect of the endocrine secretions upon the tissues of the oral cavity. Through recent research and investigations it as found that many unexplainable dental ills were logically accounted for by either a hypo-function or a hyper-function of the endocrine or ductless glands. In the following paragraphs an attempt will be made to show how, through abnormal endocrine functions, certain dental and oral diseases result.
