Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore briefly the Wisconsin law passed in 1935 requiring the teaching of Cooperatives in the teacher training colleges of Wisconsin.

It is not the purpose here to explore the high schools' curricula to-day for these subjects areas. Neither is it an attempt to report the changes made by the various colleges since 1935 in their curricula to provide compliance with the state law. Student opinions or teacher reactions to the subjects affected, likewise, are not pertinent at this time.

It is the purpose here to tell why this law was placed on our statute books, the opposition or approval of the state press, the degree of compliance by the colleges to-day, and the present day opinions of these college administration toward that requirement.
