Abstract

Guidance is one of the most acute problems of the modern secondary school. The utmost must be done, in fairness to the students, not only to aid them in the wise selection of high-school subjects, but also to challenge those with ability to use it. In today's industrial world there is a tremendous surge toward a growing emphasis on science and mathematics. Social and economic progress, together with the technological advancements of our age, daily increase the demand for skilled and trained workers. The potential leaders of the future must be uncovered today and helped to move forward as directly and rapidly in their respective fields as possible. Finding reliable means of predicting high-school students I ability in academic subjects and using results effectively for guidance purposes will lead to the realization of this end.
