Abstract
The history of the lead region has interested the writer for years. The homely qualities of the people who pioneered and developed this section of Wisconsin have long held my respect and admiration.
It was not my purpose to write a scholarly history, but the story of the accomplishments of my people in the creation of a county, and especially, of the human element of that record.
